Calm ambition

Heard of it? Well, let me tell you...

Most people think ambition has to look loud and showy - constantly being 'on', always checking emails "just in case", the feeling that every job is urgent. If you are not exhausted already, you are not trying hard enough.

But the longer I spend in this profession, the more I respect people who move quietly. The ones building real things without needing everyone to watch. The ones who can hold a big vision without turning their entire life into chaos.

If you know me, or have followed me for a while, you'll know I've previously struggled with burnout and overwhelm and this made me completely reinvent the way I work - and live.

There is something powerful about knowing where you are going, not rushing to get there and not panicking about the timeline.

Calm ambition is caring deeply about you, your career and your health, while still being able to go for a walk, call a friend, make dinner, sleep properly. It is consistency without theatrics.

I think a lot of people confuse stress with importance. They think being overwhelmed means they must be doing something meaningful. However, you can still have meaning in every aspect of your life when you are calm, focused, disciplined and happy.

That is the kind of ambition I want.

Not the kind that burns your life down on the way to success. The kind that lets you actually arrive there intact, happy and proud. What success looks like is up to you... so, do you want your ambition to feel calm?
