From surviving to thriving in law

If you’ve ever felt like you’re constantly juggling deadlines, late nights, and endless demands in your legal career. I see you. I’ve been there too.

I’m Gemma. In 2004 I was a Legal Secretary with a passion for law. I didn't realise I wanted to be a Criminal Lawyer until 2011 when I returned to work after Maternity Leave. I am a Chartered Legal Executive with 14 years of experience in crime - again, starting by answering the phones and typing letters. Now I am proud to say I am fulfilling my dream to represent clients in court and the police station.

Over the years, I have learnt the art of balancing studying, court prep, client work, and motherhood. I know first-hand what it’s like to pour everything into your career while trying to hold the rest of your life together.

That’s why I’ve made it my mission to help other legal professionals find their balance, boost their confidence, and rediscover the why behind what they do. Through my content, I share honest insights, practical guidance, and the mindset shifts that helped me move from just getting through each day to actually thriving in my career and life.

And now, I’m inviting you to do the same.

Join me over on Instagram for an insight into work as a criminal lawyer who, whilst is very busy, embraces a healthy attitude to boundaries, hard work and joy, inside and outside of work.

Let’s make 2026 the year you stop surviving and start thriving.
