Don't let the Sundays be scary

Sunday evenings have a way of creeping up on us.

The calm of the weekend fades and suddenly, the week ahead feels heavy before it’s even begun.

If you’re a woman in law, those feelings can be even louder. Deadlines. Clients. Emails waiting. Expectations from others and from yourself. The Sunday scaries don’t mean you’re weak, ungrateful, or in the wrong career. They usually mean one thing:

You care.

Before the week ahead rushes in, Sunday is your chance to slow things down.

Instead of focusing on what’s coming, look back. What did you actually do this week?

Not the perfect version. The real one.

Maybe you:

  • showed up for clients

  • mentored or supported another woman in law

  • worked long days with very little recognition

  • took a step for your business or career

  • made time for the gym, rest, or something just for you

These are not “small” things. They are evidence of progress. Small wins are still wins!

Sunday doesn’t have to be about dread. It can be about reflection and resetting your mindset.

So if the Sunday scaries show up tonight, don’t fight them. Acknowledge them, but gently remind yourself:

You’ve already handled a lot. You’re allowed to rest, and you are doing better than you think.
